Who is my brother?

One of my Facebook “friends” (actually a complete stranger to me — social media makes for odd relationships) posted the following last week: “Don’t you dare tell me who I can call my brothers and sisters in Christ!  That is way above your pay grade!”

I was tempted to respond, “Is it above yours?”

Get to work

For me, the toughest thing about cutting grass — by far — is putting on my shoes.  It seems illogical, but it’s true.  I will come up with any and every conceivable reason to not get out there and do what needs to be done.  Too hot.  Too wet.  Too tired.  Too busy.  Too many interesting videos on YouTube.

Once I get my shoes on, though, I’ll go.  And once I go, I’ll finish.

Election

I really need this election to come and go.  Despite my admonitions to everyone and his brother these days about keeping things in perspective, trusting in God through all situations, seeing ourselves as citizens of heaven and not of a disturbingly flawed America, still I find myself gawking at the latest earth-shattering rumor about the candidates and/or those near them.

Maybe I should try this again, if only for my sake.
